The text aims to show the similar path of two of the main authors of the European Enlightment: Winckelmann and Diderot. In showing that there are similitudes in the way that Diderot observes nature and the modes that Winckelmann observes and understands the arts, we may be able to find that the realms of both the emerging discipline of aesthetics and that of the growing science of the living beings had much in common in its operations.
