A FILOSOFIA NA ERA DA (PRIMEIRA) GLOBALIZAÇÃO UMA FÁBULA SOBRE O DESTINO DA CIVILIZAÇÃO

This essay is on thinking the meaning and the place of philosophy at a time of globalization, but by means of a historical retreat, challenging the dominant view according to which globalization is a phenomenon of today. For that matter, I will turn to four central questions: 1) What is the sociocultural environment, or else, what is the civilization in which the rupture we know as “first globalization” occurs? What kind of consciousness has it come to disturb and change? What were the effects that such disturbance had on philosophy? What can modern man and today’s philosophy both learn from the answers to the three preceding questions?
