In this essay the author intends to discuss what a practical reason is, that is, what are we refering to when we talk about the reason for an action, as well as what happens when someone acts for a reason. In this sense, she evokes especially Aristotle and Kant in order to give this question an answer. This strategy will distinguish her own answer from many answers gave by contemporary philosophers. So she will connect her account of what reasons are with a feature of Reason as it was conceived by the philosophers aformentioned: The Reason as an active dimension of the mind itself.
