Bergson, Descartes e a Vida Interior

In spite of its technical vocabulary and its sinuous arguments, the question of subjectivity indicates a peculiar manner by which the Modern Philosophy discuss about “who we are”. It is intended to approach the intuitive aspect of that problem. For such, I propose a counterpoint between the doctrines of Descartes and Bergson. What established an acquaintance among these philosophers regarding the intuition of our inner life is that both of them share the conception of Philosophy as a way of life in which the theoretical discourse is an important part, but not more than a part. Because of that, the arguments and the exposition level of these two philosophies must be interpreted according to the existential conjuncture by which they were taught. For this discussion of the existential structure which subsists to the theoretical question of the subjectivity, my goal is to indicate how this conception could, in the realm of Contemporary Metaphysics, revitalize the question of the meaning of life.
