This article sheds light on the aesthetic analysis Taste of the eighteenth century considering the work of Baron de Montesquieu, 1753, entitled The Taste, entry written to be part of the Encyclopedic under the direction of Diderot and D'Alembert and supplement written about taste already made by Voltaire. The Taste is approached from essential means of pleasures and their causes, considering its relations with: curiosity, order, variety, symmetry, and contrasts, of sensitivity, delicacy, surprise, the rules, among others circumstantialitys. Also we will draw a parallel with the representations of the same category of taste with the aesthetic thought of Charles Batteux, a contemporary of Montesquieu. The aim is to break down the steps is the work The Taste and analyzing the processes of the soul where pleasure is causes and thus build up the feeling of the building. Central theme of the discussions about taste are the dimensions of pleasure. The taste always connects us to something through feeling. Decipher the source of pleasure is constituted as an analysis of a structure of the soul and find meaning in their expressions of pleasure in order of feel and see, therefore, this work carries an effort in that traverses the pleasure pathways, such which elaborated by Montesquieu, to constitute a still embryonic reflection on the taste, considering some of the nuances esthete classicist Batteux.
