We will examine, in this text, how and why the philosopher Hegel praises poetic art as one of the most important forms of free art. We note that poetic art, beyond being a way to express and raise the "Spirit", is also the most adequate art and facilitator for the concrete appearance of sensitive. In this context, we see that the philosopher criticized some of his contemporaries. Among these assessments, we emphasize those that refer to the young Goethe. Possibly influenced by the movement Sturm und Drang, the German poet created tragic narratives as Clavigo, Egmont, Stella and the novel The sorrows of Young Werther, that do not please the German philosopher. Why are these works criticized by Hegel? Could it be because of the way that poet wrote, because of the content or only because of a prosaic excess? We seek to answer these and other questions. We use some critical editions and available modern translations of the authors and others that seem to make the studies more precise and enriching.
