Labor e libido: Processos imperiais de valoração em uma paisagem spinozista

In this article, we operate methodologically within a Spinozist mental landscape, that is, starting with Spinoza’s ideas, but instigated by the ideas of other thinkers. Our reflection begins by questioning the Latin formula, taken up by Spinoza, according to which humans have a tendency to avoid labor in favor of indulging in libido. Our intention is to show that this tendency is not absolute, but relative to the processes of valorisation that, based on desire, are established as a collective experience. To do this, we investigate the concepts of imperium and libido. On this basis, we seek to understand the opposition between labor and libidinous life that exists in the classical-commercial and modern-industrial capitalist imperia, and its surprising composition in the contemporary-neoliberal capitalist imperium.
