NARRAÇÃO COMO META-GÊNERO

The objective of this text is to characterize narrative as a meta-genre in Paul Ricoeur’s work, aiming to point out how the overall narrative domain expresses its function in the organization of events, the actions in a narrated story. Exposing the notion of meta-genre requires to consider the narrative as having its own historicity, due to a formal principle of the narrative plot composition, derived from the mythos by Aristotle. In addition, it is understood that there are certain modes of composition specifically ascribed to narration, which constitute a tradition of narrative models. To do so, I present a characterization of the narrative function and further expose the thesis about the hermeneutics of narration. Finally, I indicate the locus of the “meta” function of narration in the hermeneutics of the self, on the whole of an analogic unit of action.
