NATURALISMO, NORMATIVIDADE E A NATURALIZAÇÃO DA PRÁTICA CIENTÍFICA

The following paper aims at an attempt to grasp the scientific practice in naturalistic terms. One of the major issues we have to face is to get to know how to integrate scientific practice, which is utterly normative, in the non-normative frame of the natural world that is constructed by it. A possible response to this issue we are addressing to herein is by means of a theoretical perspective, which I nominate "normative naturalism", which purports that nature itself is normative. We shall examine the agencial realism proposed by Karen Barad as well as the enactive approach as presented by Evan Thompson as two viable models for this type of naturalism. Thereafter, having demonstrated the theoretical limitations of both perspectives, I shall describe, having as my point of depart the perspective that I call "agentially strong cognitivism", what kind of ontological structure the natural world should have so that the scientific practice particularly and the cognitive processes in general could be totally naturalized.
