2019Gerson Tadeu Astolfi Vivan Filho. O chamado: a ética do trabalho segundo John Locke. Cadernos de Ética e Filosofia Política, v. 1, n. 34, p. 38-54, 2019.3
This articles aims to defy traditional interpretations about the role of the ideia of labour in Lockean arguments for private apropriation by exploring the religious and moral foundations of the notion in side texts. It concludes that labour is not limited to physical effort, neither to production of market exchange value, but refers to a robust and demanding ideal of human flowering, both material and intelectual, which brings about to ambiguous implications to the central argument and challenges its ability to justify specific property arrangements.
