The article presents Marx's (and Engels's) conception, histórica! mate- rialism, in the way that it is developed in the German Ideology, as an "ultracommunitarianism", as an ontologically and anthropologicaily founded antilibera- lism. According to such conception, as we try to show, the private demands of the really existing, empirical individual, her claims as an autonomous subject, turn out to be entirely disqualified.
