2024María José García-Encinas. On the judgement of beauty: an open path towards transcendental realism. Kant e-prints, v. 19, p. e024001-e024001, 2024.3
The Kantian analysis of the judgement of beauty leaves us with an amazing feeling, an a priori and universal experience that is non-conceptual and singular, about transcendental forms. I attempt to revitalize this unique form of experience, claiming that, pace Kant, its non-conceptual nature does not imply that it must be ideal. Rather, Kant’s argument opens the path for the proposal of a type of aesthetic experience of direct acquittance with transcendental formal structures of reality. This is good news for contemporary metaphysicians in want of an epistemology for the modality of the world.
