Um tópico de aproximação ao pensamento político grego: fins e meios na democracia ateniense do século V a. C.

This article tries to approach Greek political thought by briefly introducing some intellectual representations in which the relationship between means and ends seems to be a relevant matter.  Along the exposition, the topic is linked with different understandings of the political community and fifth-century Athenian democratic experience, taking as a starting point the reforming action of Solon and then giving special attention to the doctrines of Protagoras and Gorgias.  Finally, it is proposed a formal reflection about the current and possible implications raised by ancient discussion of political ends.
