Among the artistic representations of archaic and classic antiquity, with deep, vibrant and yet paradoxically disputed ethical contents, the Greek tragedies are preeminent on Hegel studies on theatre and literature. Hegel found in the tragical language the most elevated Logos of ancient art, filled with a high conceptual value in the counterpose dialogues (entgegengesetzten) of the characters, manifest in their gestures, but mostly through their actions with aesthetical, ethical, political and philosophical contents. At the same time the contents of such dialogues are straightforward and obscure, decrypted and suffered by the right and wrongdoings of the tragic heroes. Hegel retook in the Phenomenolgy of Spirit and in his Lectures on Aesthetics, the fundamental ethical conflicts elaborated by ancient master poet: Aeschylus, and re-elaborated them in phenomenology and aesthetic studies about the tragic clash in the teban myth of heroic war.
