Para aquém da Reivindicação: a experiência da dependência nos primeiros escritos de Mary Wollstonecraft

When someone gets conscience about their own dependence? To Mary Wollstonecraft, it happened when she discovers John Locke's concept of tyranny. To express her concern, Wollstonecraft starts writing fictional stories. This paper's main goal is to look at these initial works and analyze Wollstonecraft as a philosopher who already elaborates on the experience of the dependent in these early books. Although female dependence is central in Vindication of the Rights of Woman (1792), it already appears in her early works, published between 1786 and 1788. In these books, it is possible to see the birth of a great political theorist.
