2025Kleyde Jomara Vilasbôas. PARRESIA E EXPERIÊNCIA ÉTICA: uma leitura foucaultiana. Revista Paranaense de Filosofia, v. 5, n. 1, p. 152-167, 2025.5
This article proposes to reflect on the notion of parrhesia and its articulation with ethical experience, from the perspective of self-care, discussed by Michel Foucault, in the course The Courage of Truth (1984), in which the philosopher relates the exercise of frank speech, with the constitution of a subject's way of being, with its moral and ethical aspects. Using the genealogical method, from which he analyzes classic texts by Greek philosophers, the thinker describes that, in antiquity, acting based on truth-telling constitutes an ethical experience that moves the subject in the constitution of himself, from the courage of truth. Keywords: Ethics. Parrhesia. True. Take care of yourself. Subjectivity.
